Turned from a spalted ash log given to me by a friend with woodland in Devon. Deliberately made with a 'heavy bottom' to make sure it wont tip over.

The bowl has rich features from the turned bark on one side of the bowl body.


Taken from a chestnut tree  in a garden in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham which had to be felled after the storms of 2020 by tree surgeons. It would otherwise have gone in the chipper!

The buttons finely sanded and are finished in tung oil, a hard wearing finish.


Turned edge buttons have been cut and sanded on the external circumference.


Natural edge buttons have the bark left on the outer edge.
